Milestone of 350,000 plants planted in the Upper Wairua catchment
Waimā, Waitai, Waiora and our partners have now successfully planted over 350,000 trees in the Northern Kaipara Moana catchment area. The partnership is currently on track to meet our goal of planting 100,000 native plants per year. The plants have all been provided by Ngā Uri o Hau Native Nursery. So far, the planting has been carried out by a mixture of contractors, farmers, forestry workers, schools, and other members of the public. All of the trees have come from Ngā Uri o Hau Native Nursery in Te Arai.
